"Wow, sieht das schnell aus!" – dein Arbeitsgerät tritt mit auffälligem Design und kantig-kräftigem Monocoque-Rahmen an, ein echter Macho! Das ändert sich auch nach dem Einklicken nicht: Die Position fällt trotz nicht übermäßig langem Oberrohr sehr sportlich aus – was an der gekröpften Sattelstütze und der tiefen Front mit kurzer Gabel liegt. Entsprechend rassig geht das FLX auf Sekundenhatz, generiert mächtigen Vortrieb und reagiert mit sehr guten Steifigkeiten exakt auf Lenkbewegungen und Antritte. Auch bei rennsportlicher Kurvenfahrt punktet das Merida: „Flott und flink, racig, aber dennoch verspielt“, bemerkten die Tester. Kritik auf höchstem Niveau gab es dafür am Kletterverhalten: Zwar ist der Taiwan-Schwabe auch hier eines der quirligsten Testbikes, die sehr leichte Front neigt aber zum „Abheben“. Im Downhill profitiert das FLX von seiner Balance und dem tollen Handling, die mit 100 mm Hub überragende Manitou R7 bietet ausreichend Reserven und verlangt eine geschickte Linienwahl. Gut für lange Ausfahrten: Im Sattel sorgen die geschwungenen Streben des Monostay-Hinterbaus und die gekröpfte Carbonstütze für merklichen Fahrkomfort. Die Parts sind hochwertig.

I got the regular twin size for my toddler’s bed. Before, he had a yellow foam topper (one of the cheap ones) and a mattress protector that barely stretched to the bottom of the mattress. I LOVE that this is such a deep fit so I didn’t need to worry about it coming up a lot. We have a standard size twin mattress. For breathability, it does seem like it might trap heat- it is very warm to lay on the mattress now, but that doesn’t bother us. It is comfortable to lay on the mattress. I don’t think it is as thick as the foam topper we had, but that was expected. For a waterproof topper, it’s a pretty good fluffiness. Washing: Hours fit in our washing machine fine. However, I did have to dry it three times. You can’t dry it with anything else or whatever else is in there gets bundled up inside it. I didn’t take a star off for this because we generally have to run loads a second time in our dryer anyways, and it might be because of the weight that it takes longer to dry. overall, I am happy with the purchase! My toddler’s bed is much more “in place” with the sheets, it’s still comfortable and the cost is worth the money to me.
